Spooner Lake Fishing
During my summer vacation in Lake Tahoe my family and I went fishing at Spooner Lake. When we were fishing at Spooner Lake we caught 6 rainbow trout and 18 tui chub. Four of the trout were 8", one was 10", and one was 12". The tui chub were 4-6". The chub were all caught on worms ranging from a centimeter to an inch. Two of the trout were also caught on worms and another two trout were caught on Powerbait dipped in garlic. Our last two trout were caught on a red and yellow Panther Martin and a Thomas Buyont. My family and I had a fun time at Spooner Lake and I can't wait to go back again.

Dana Point Kelp Bed Fishing
This fish was my second ocean fish what I caught. The fish is called a calico bass. I caught the calico bass on an anchovy casted in the kelp beds. The calico bass was 1 foot long. It was short by 2 inches (14 inches). This was my first calico bass that I caught. These fish put up such a fight for their size. My friend Ethan Bemis was fishing with me for his 8th birthday. In all we caught 11 fish. My dad and I did not catch any fish to keep to eat. In all my dad and I caught 6 fish. We caught four calico bass and two mackerel. The calico bass were 12 (3 of them) and 13 inches (1 of them). The other calico bass were caught anchovies and strips of squid. The mackerel were caught anchovies. They were 8 to ten inches long. One was caught in the kelp beds and the other was caught on the surface at nighttime. You could see the mackerel darting everywhere. Everyone caught something. The people on the boat caught calico bass (59), rockfish (9), sargo (1), sand bass (19), sculpin (1), halibut (1), white sea bass (2), mackerel (37), and croaker (3). The Bemises caught 2 calico bass, 1 sculpin, 1 sargo, and 1 barracuda. The trip was called a twilight boat. Twilight boat trips are from 5: 30 to 9: 30 P.M. (4 hours long). Our boat was called the Reel Fun. Catching the anchovies was very hard. The anchovies were hooked through the nose. We went to 3 fishing spots. There were 39 anglers on board the boat. The biggest fish was the 23 in. 5 pound halibut. One person also caught a 21 in. 3 or 5 pound sand bass. I had a fun time with my friend at Dana Point.

Laguna Niguel: Birthday fishing.
On my 8th birthday my friends and I went fishing at Laguna Niguel Lake. I caught the first fish on power bait dipped in garlic. It took two minutes to land the trout. All of the fish we caught were rainbow trout. The trout were caught on power bait dipped in garlic. The second fish was caught by my friend Ethan Bemis. It was a little fish for the lake [14 inches]. It took me one minute to net the fish. My dad hooked something huge. It took five minutes to land the fish. My dad got a little frustrated because the trout got stuck in the twigs. Finally my dad landed it without any help. The big rainbow trout weighed 7 pounds. The first trout weighed 2 pounds and 9 ounces. Ethan's fish weighed two pounds and 3 ounces. Then we sang "Happy Birthday" to me. I got 16 dollars worth of money. I got a Minecraft light up torch, Survival book,a headlamp, water bottle, Lego Movie Trash chomper, and a Lego Marvel set for presents. I had a fun 8th birthday celebrating with my friends!
My first post on my new blog!
This is my very first blog post. I will use this new blog to post all about fishing, wildlife, and hunting. The fish shown above is a barred surfperch. This was my very first ocean fish that I caught at Doheny Beach. I used a berkly gulp camo two sand worm to land this beauty. I let the bait sit out in the water for five minutes. When I got the bite I thought it was snagged. When I reeled the fish in I was surprised to see the fish. The fish was a little over average [ ten inches]. It was exciting to catch this fish.
